Have I been fed some bogus info??

I'm with OAts, mine has been hardwired in, there were no kits a year plus ago, no that there are no plans on hooking up for the chimes, I like it just the way it is.

Hey Crystal lake isn't that far from me, well my work is in Bloomingdale still a bit of a drive.

No, I don't have onstar or the bose system. Just like silverbonnie said the GMRC-04 is the harness to use if you are like me no onstar or bose. The best advice I can give is to just give metra a call and tell them what you have and what you want to do. The know everything when it comes to wiring. I have been doing stereos in my car for the last 12 years and I have always used metra they are who you need to call. Their web address is Metraonline.com.

Custom...I can't find it at the moment...Where'* Haro when ya need info, or CFoote (guy never answers his work phone...I doublt he works at all). There'* a unit called RAC or something that you pick up for $50 and program it so it takes your buttons and translates them to a remote signal and you put the eye in the trim New HU needs to have a remote.

Sure I'd help, I have that steering wheel control interface and it'* shitty, they don't last and go bad, my first one lasted couple months, the second one died and I've just left it dead.
