Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Have I been fed some bogus info??

Hey silverbonnie, That is the same line I got fed. Don't know if the installer just wants to make extra money or what! but it really pisses me off when people that should know what they are talking about don't but act like they do anyway. I'm bout fittin' to go back to the store just to tell him how big a moron he really is.

Ah well, I'm just glad we got such a wealth of knowledge to draw upon. We really are lucky to have this website.

Peace,
Mac

What wires did they say they had to cut? I didn't have to do any of that for mine.

if it works like i think it should, its like you never touched the radio system... everything should still work for you..because you are using all the wires that were used with the Factory HU. now i may be wrong but thats how it should be. i myself am trying the line converter first to see how that is, if i dont like ill buy that metra thingie

well my peice came in and a different salesmen fed me a different price then what the other one said first it was 150 then said 120 so i put the 120 down for the part to be ordered and now he says 68 bucks *sigh* i have a feeling im being pushed around becuz i dont know much about audio except that i need to spend lots of money and jl audio is a good brand thats all i really know .... i do know a little bit more but you get the point ... anywho there trying to tell me itll be about 250-300 for the Headunit installation i called best buy they said 50 bucks but they wanna look at it first ...( the place im working with that is pushing me around is Tweeter only reason i went there is cuz they are the closest store located by me that sells JL audio and thats what my hole system is gonna be other then my Alpine Headunit and my boston acoustic component speakers

all in all tho im spending about 1500 on my audio project not including installation and ive already spent 800 so far and i got about another 700 to go :?
