Default CD Player Issues

1998 SSEi with Bose sound package.

My cd player seems to have a hard time starting a new track. This is an intermittent problem, somtimes it will have a hard time with a track, sometimes it won't, it makes a noise like it is moving the laser around, and back and forth. Once it plays the track, it is fine until the end. Also, If I use the reverse button, I can scroll into the previous track, but sometimes if I just hit the previous track button, I will have the same problem. Sometimes playing around with the volume **** or steering wheel controls will make it play, more often it won't. If it takes too long and still doesnt get into a track, it will eject the disc with an "ER 23". Thanks for any insight.

E23 : Communications Error Cause(*): There is a vehicle/radio communication problem or an internal radio communication problem. Correction(*): Disconnect battery voltage to the radio and then reconnect after a few minutes. If there is still an error, send the unit to an ACDelcoŽ Service Center.

Another thing you can do..

Hang out until you cruise in.. Check out an aftermarket radio setup like mine and do it up.

Sending to Delco for servicing can be quite costly.

Yeah, I was thinking about a possible carputer setup, becuase I can get decent PC parts for free, I would only have to pay for the display, and anything to make it car-adaptable. Still not sure on that, although it would be a fun project. Yeah I wouldn't send it to Delco, I would leave it be if anything and wait until I do something different. I have to mull some thing sover, becuase depending on what I do for audio, I might put in my CB radio somewhere on the dash, maybe even wheere the radio is now, if I don't put a screen there.
