ok everyone.. today i either blew a sub or my amp.. so im in the market to upgrade!!!!

Ive been tossing alot of ideas around and havent settled on any equipment yet, but im looking to run a total of about 2500-3000watts peak 1200-1500RMS

what would everyone recommend for upgrades.. i already plan on using a yellow top battery and relocating it to the trunk and rewiring it all with 0ga wire.. but what will i need for a capacitor?? any suggestions on makes and farad ratings?? also, would a 160amp alternator from mr. alternator be enough??

if you upgrade the alt, and get a yellow top...there is no need for a cap

Your battery is under the back seat, right? Why put it in the trunk?

Is the Protection light lit on the amp? If so, that would probably mean the amp has gone into a self-protect mode.

Some would tell you not to use a capacitor. But with your wattage, I'd say a 2 farad cap.

1. my batt is under the backseat, but i will still need to make a bracket to get the yellowtop to fit in place of the origional. while upgrading my "big three" i figured i might as well put it in the trunk

2. The amp is lit up like it is functioning normally, there is no protection light on it.. no sound is coming out of the subs and i dont have my multimeter here, so im going to have to check it out at work tomorrow.

is your sub in a sealed box? if so just loosen the sub, if you actually blew it (burned a voice coil) you will definately smell it
