I used one of those spider adapters for years in my lumina and 95. It worked with no problems. Darcy is just anal

The install looks great, but there is quite a bit of gap around the dash bezel and HU isn't there?

Messing with antenna adapters like that isn't a simple thing.

Antennas are not simple creatures. In antenna applications like that spider, you can get different problems depending on whether you leave it as is, short the other legs, leave them open, or put a load on them.

Your solution was the best of all options, but it'* still not an ideal solution. I would call it temporary, and pursue a permanent solution.

think simpler here. If the adapter doesnt work, the worse that is going to happen is the radio won't pick up any signal.

Well that looks pretty sweet. Just gotta fill in the gaps. I was thinking of picking one up myself but opted for a 5 channel amp instead. They are very nice decks and have the option of bluetooth and many more goodies built in. Ebay has them for well under $200 and newegg.com carries both models but has been out of stock on the 700 for a few weeks.

btw how did the right side of the opening get chewed up? Was that neccesarry or just bad luck?

The trim was already chewed up like that when I bought it. I also didn't use the spider adapter, I picked up the right one from BestBuy. I'm not sure how I'm going to get rid of the gap around the deck. Any ideas?

sometimes you can find textured sheet styrene in home improvement or hobby stores. If you can only find plain sheet styrene they sell a spray texture and plastic paint that will help it match. Thats what I was thinking of doing anyway.

i was just wondering if you had any problem with frequency noise interference in your front and rear speakers, because i just tried to install a cd player in my 2001 Bonneville ssei with the same wiring harness but ended up taking it out because it was getting either engine noise or frequency noise have not figured it out yet.
