Default Aftermarket headunit

Ok so I have a 2003 Bonneville SE and I have been reading a lot about it being hard to put a new headunit into a 2000+ bonneville. I'm new to car audio and I don't really understand most of what is being said in those posts. So if someone could help me out and tell me what I need to put a new headunit in that would be great.
