Default Aftermarket headunit with Bose System

In looking at the threads in this section can I safely assume that you can put in an aftermarket headunit with a bose system and not have any problems, or do any modifications? I want to add a Sony headunit with front imput and usb port. Can I just take out my stock headunit and put in the Sony without doing anything else other then changing the wiring harness? Thanks for the help in advance.

A (Semi) Detailed guide on changing head units with bose system

Remove the stock, harness, etc.

wire aftermarket harness together, but don't connect the accessory wires yet.

Cut orange amp power wire from harness to the stock h/u.

wire amp power wire into accessory wires when you splice them.

Install h/u.

Enjoy tunes.

I'd put more detail into this, but I have to leave for school in five minutes... If someone else doesn't chime in before I get home I'll put better directions. Or just ask boosty.
