Question 2014 GMC Terrain Intellilink problems

I have a problem with my 2014 GMC Terrain. The radio goes off randomly and comes back on randomly. It also gets fine lines on the screen and when all this is happening, you can't get anything to work as far as radio, phone, back up camera, and even the clock is frozen. None of the steering wheel controls work either. I can't even push the power button to turn it off! I took it to a GMC dealer and had them do a diagnostic on it. They told me the head was alright and that the problem was the "radio control panel". They gave me the part number (84096703) and told me it would be $650. It took a month to get that part and the dealer where I bought the car had the service center install it. Thought it was all ok. Took it for a ride yesterday and it cut on and off 5 times! The mechanic seems puzzled. Any ideas what might be causing this problem? I'm just an old lady and I am afraid they will try to take advantage of that fact. PS: the heat/air works fine...even when the rest doesn't. Thanks in advance for any help you can throw in my direction.
