Also run an ohm meter test on the coils. Put one lead on each tower post and check for resistance differences from coil to coil. My experience would put that as the first test and usually find a bad coil.

The cat was at fault it got replaced with magnaflow cat from Hogan Performance
http://hoganperformance.com/CC1.htm ,The car runs like it never did before, the old cat was clogged.
