Default Non Supercharged 3.8 into SSEI

Will a non supercharged 3.8 work in a SSEI Body? I have a 2000 Bonneville SSEI with a bad engine. I have a 3.8 non supercharged out of a 2000 Bonneville. i know it will bolt up, but wondering what kind of other items I will need to swap. specifically the wiring harness and transmission, and any other items you are aware of.

Thanks,

Yes it will.

But you will need the PCM also.

I have to admit, I am curious what the reasoning is behind dumping the supercharger.

The supercharged motor has a major engine knock. Sounds like its in the lower end. The head gasket is blown as well.Never thought about a top swap. That'* a great idea. Could I use the heads from the non supercharged? Will everything else work?

In your search, you can also look for the series 3 supercharged too. I haven't looked for them, but there was a point where they were cheaper than the series 2, and the blocks and such were the same.

If your */C bottom end is junk, just get rid of the whole engine. It'* not worth the trouble changing an N/A engine to a high performance */C engine. It requires active tuning.

Just stay with the original plan of transplanting engines.
