Transmission trouble?

ok, the fuel filter is replaced! it was a job less than 10minutes. After showering, my hair still smells like gasoline, cuz when i disconnected the 'out' hose from the old filter, gasoline poured out onto my hair 
Took the car out for a spin, and it ran beautifully. I would have to say that replacing the plugs, wires, and fuel filter fixed the problem i was having. I dont see it necessary to replace the cat, unless somebody can convince me otherwise. It'* not exactly in the best condition as the rest of the exhaust pipes (its collecting a fair amout of rust, but not enough to have chunks of it falling off).
