hold on a minute... try this out. keep your car in D (not overdrive), and get yourself up to a happy 55 miles an hour. report back with your RPM'*....

Yea, 3k at 55 seems a little high to me. Though, I cant remember last time I was in D at 55, usually in OD.

hmm off topic my jeep is a 3k at 55mph when i drive but then again its only a 3spd auto torqueflite 904

next time you get a chance to drive it, throw it into 1 (range 1 selected), and see if you throw any codes.

p.*.
if what i think is wrong is wrong, you won't have engine braking in 1st.

so really, what i need you to do is be in second gear, and throw your shifter down to 1st. if it pulls your car slower, we've eliminated a problem. if there'* no engine braking, and the tranny free-wheels as you slow down, than we can limit it to one of two things.
