sluggish acceleration
I have a 2000 SSEi, just today it got very sluggish and even sputtered a bit while accelerating. Then it actually stalled at a red light. It started right up but the check engine light is on now and it is still sluggish and hesitates when accelerating.
Any one experience this before, any ideas?
David

David, the first advice I can give you is to take it somewhere to retrieve the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) that is stored by the PCM. This will help in forming a basis on where to start looking for the problem.

Yep I had a very similar situation. I can't remember what the code was but, what it amounted to, on mine at least, was a misfire on cylinder 6.
You would just about have to have the code read to get a more specific response.
Oh yeah, put your model year, trim level and any mods you have made in your signature it will help us to diagnose any problems.
Hope this helps,
Tim

Also...how many miles are on it? It could be something simple enough like plugs/wires.... Once we know what the code is, everyone can lead you in the right direction.
