Default oil pressure gauge

last Sunday night I noticed my oil pressure gauge went nuts jumping from side to side wildly then finally resting at the on the 120 (this is a 2000 Sle BTW) where its been sitting when ever the car is running, now today same thing the wild movement then my check guages and low pressure light came on. Is this the same oil pressure sending unit i read about in the 00-05 common problems forum, or is this something different!!!

I love this car but all these comon problems makes me want to trade her in for a toyota

PLEASE HELP GUYS!!!! :( :(

your oil pressure sender failed.....when they fail they fail on the high side.....~$30 at the local parts store will get you a new one

the install and removal is simple....the sender is located right above the oil filter adapter

Yes, the common issue of 00-05 oil pressure failure applies to either your 00 or 0? (I forget) car.

Once you replace it you should get many happy years of service from the new sensor. As for many problems... think of them as them as things you can do while bonding with your car...lol

Do you get to it from under the car? Or, can I see this from the top?

it should have been noted that you should replace it the next time change your oil, because when you pull out the sensor, oil will come out also, unless it is drained.

Default Thanks for the info!!!

I need to order the part for the fuel gauge sending unit repair kit also. Would someone happen to have the GM part # for the sender unit? That way I could save on shipping costs if I get both on the same order

Default first post, 200 SLE

Ironically, i have both of these issues happening at the same time. if someone could post the part #'* for both the oil pressure sensor and gas sending unit, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Diesel.. head down the local parts store or do a search. Either should get you the right sensor. They are pretty common.
