Check your relays. It sounds like the power simply isn't getting to the starter. If it was, the lights would dim. The relay is clicking to the switch is ok. The problem is between the relay and the starter.
Just an update: Car is starting without problem for almost a week now. After cleaning ALL electrical connections I could find (whether it had something to do with the starting system or not), it is working. This was not unusual, the problem was intermittant. I bought new ignition relays, the two that go under the back seat, and have been waiting for the problem to happen again before I change them. If it doesn't start...hopefully, I'll change the relays and it will imediately start. You know, the whole "cause and effect" thing. Well, for now, I'll say it was due to bad connections, somewhere. I've messed with a lot of electrical systems and have never a problem with one that looked so clean and had NO visible corrosion (even after cutting back the sheaths on the wiring).
I had a similar problem with my GXP, when it was under warranty (several months old?). It wouldn't crank and the lights wouldn't dim; no apparent draw at all. I'd just keep trying the key until it started.
The dealer replaced the battery and a ground bolt or wire? I thought I heard that our generation Bonny had a problem with the ground strap from the battery to the body? under the seat?

I did make up a write up in the testing area of the tech info about testing the negative battery cable. This test will tell you right away if you have a problem with corrosion or have a bad negative battery cable.
