When you take it back, ask them if they find anything unusual and if they can tell you why it keeps failing. I'd appreciate it, others likely would too, if you report back with what they find.

Is there any risk of the allthread grinding the hockey pucks away? Or is movement restricted enough to prevent this?

Well the dealer could not find any reason for the strut mount to fail and they replaced under warranty.

In case anyone is looking I am selling this car and it is in the for sale forum.
