Strut bearing mount
I'm getting ready to redo the front end and was pricing the spring seats and insulators at GM Parts Direct. I also figured that as long as I was in there, I would replace the strut bearings. They weren't too bad in price at $27 but the mounts for them were $69 apiece. My question would be if it is really necessary to replace the mount when replacing the bearing? I haven't actually seen this area apart so I can't visualize how everything is fit together.
Any help would be appreciated.

yes, replace the strut mounts and spring seats. They have redesigned the strut seats so that they actually work now. I posted my whole ordeal with the mounts and the seats on this forum. Do a search for it and you can read the whole thing.

honestly i don't remember, but if your going to be taking everything apart to replace the struts and the parts are only like $27 you might as well do it if you plan on keeping the car for a while.
