I think I may have a TC going. The car is making an engine-speed related whine from the bell-housing area. Sounds like a loud gear whine. Also, when I leave from a stop at mid throttle, I can feel the engine thunk like the trans is engaging hard, and twice it lunged at about 10-12mph when I tipped slowly into the throttle.

Gearheads, any ideas?

Brian.. get a look inside that pan asap.

If something is coming apart.. you want to know before damaging or clogging the pump etc. Your description could be a TC...but there'* no way to know until you autopsy or pull the pan at least.

OK, well, Sean is going to drive me to work, and we'll see about doing that this weekend.
