Whining noise?
 

I think I may have a TC going. The car is making an engine-speed related whine from the bell-housing area. Sounds like a loud gear whine. Also, when I leave from a stop at mid throttle, I can feel the engine thunk like the trans is engaging hard, and twice it lunged at about 10-12mph when I tipped slowly into the throttle.

Gearheads, any ideas?

Brian.. get a look inside that pan asap.

If something is coming apart.. you want to know before damaging or clogging the pump etc. Your description could be a TC...but there's no way to know until you autopsy or pull the pan at least.

OK, well, Sean is going to drive me to work, and we'll see about doing that this weekend.
