Just finished putting the old one back in. The wires look good from what I can tell and I found the new sensor was a little dirty after removing it (a very light film on the sensing prob). I never noticed much of anything on the old sensor when I first removed it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I drained the system when I replaced all the hoses ans it distured some sediment in the system. I read the voltage at the connector for the sensor and I got 5.07v on the yellow wire, 3.955v on the green wire and the black is a ground.

Since I was reading a misfire when the code came back I went ahead and checked and cleaned the coils and the connection at the ignition module. I found the newer coil I bought from AutoZone was reading 9.5ohms on the secondary side, the other two were reading right at 7ohms. I still had the other one of the original three that were replacements from Advance Auto, so I reinstalled it. It also read 7 ohms. I'm not seeing anymore misfire at the moment and I got my fingers crossed that the old coolant sensor works as good as it did before I replaced it.

Just a quick update. It must have been a defective sensor because I haven't had a problem since I reinstalled the old one.
