I have recently noticed a strange grind on the front passenger side of my car. It seems to be more pronounced when turning right or when strait but under heavy acceleration. But I haven't noticed it when turning left. I can slightly feel the vibration in the steering wheel.
This car has had a history of tranny issues and it appeared the last time it came back from the shop. It'* loud enough that I'm pretty worried about it. Would an axleshaft create this niose?

It could be a wheel bearing.

wheel bearing, cv joint, strut, axel any one of these could do it.

Had a similar issue once. Believe it or not it turned out to be a bad catalitic converter. Same symptoms too (right turn, heavy accel).

Could be that too i have heard of this happening.

A CV shaft problem usually is a clicking noise when you turn the wheel hard to a direction and then acelerate. It could very well be a wheel bearing. When you are driving, have a buddy in the passenger side with the window down (or you) drive until you hear the noise and then rock the steering wheel slightly back and forth (while driving) to listen if the sound changes (loading and unloading the bearings). The loose bearing could also cause vibration in the front end.

While you are at it just look at the boot (outer) of the CV shaft to see if it is ripped (although my CV shaft came apart (broke) without the boot ripping).

I'll take a look at these things and get back.
