Default oil pressure gauge

is it normal for the oil pressure gauge to raise when accelerating and lower when deccelerating? i thought that it was supposed to stay at a constant pressure, but i could be wrong. hopefully this is normal and there is nothing wrong with the car.

its a 1997 SSE

oil pump output low at low rpm (idle) & high at higher rpm. It'* a function of engine rpm. Also as engine warms up oil pressure will decrease slightly.
