Default Need help with an ac part

I need to know what the hose is called that goes from the tank lookin thing attached to the firewall to the condenser. All I can find is the one that goes from the compressor to the tank thing to the condenser. I need to know the one that just goes from the condenser to the tank looking thing. My car is missing one and I need to order it, however I do not know what its called to order it. Please help. Thanks

If you go to GM Parts direct and pull up my car, go to ac and then hose. Pull up the image. The part I need it the one labled 16 in the image. I can not find a part that has that #16 number on it so know its the right part. I need your help with that.

The tank that you refer to is the receiver/dryer, if that is in fact what you mean. Do not leave that tank open to atmosphere.

Yeah the tank I am referring to is the dryer (my dad told me what it was last evening on the phone) however I am still needing to know the line that goes from the dryer to the condencer. I need to know what it is to order it. Also the connections where the lines used to be are taped off, were done by previous owner. I have gone 2 years without AC. I went on a trip to DC saturday and ended up with heat exhaustion and was very sick. I can't deal with not having AC anymore. You help will be much appriciated!

The lines are missing and the ends are taped off. I have a feeling the evaporator was leaking and since they decided not to fix it they took off the lines. I've seen this done before.

No the condenser had a hole in it from a rock, the prevous owner, my mother, had tried to replace it and for some reason left that line off and now no longer has it. So now I am in search of a new line, and condenser, I know how to look up and order the condenser, thats the easy part. I can't locate the name or part number of this line to order it.

I would say a junkyard would be your best price to get the line. Beyond that GMpartsdirect.com where you'll have to search through areas to find the right line...good luck..I can never find what I'm looking for.

Dan, If the lines are taped off you may want to consider a new receiver/dryer also. the reason being that if the system was not air tight for any lenght of time, the receiver/dryer is trashed.
