The only way to get an OEM trans cooler on an SE or SLE was to add it at the factory. I forget what the package was called, but it should be in your RPO'*. Heavy duty trans cooling option or something like that.
All SSE'* and SSEi'* with the 4T60E trans (92-96) should have the OEM cooler. This is in addition to the traditional path through the radiator. I know all Series 1 SSEi'* (92-95) also have a 3-core radiator. Trans, Oil, and Coolant, then the auxilary trans cooler as well.
Most of us simply add another aftermarket cooler just in front of the OEM cooler. That'* the way mine is.
You will not find a trans cooler on the 4T65E'*, and there are differing opinions on whether it'* needed on those or not, but I find it strange that the 4T60'* with the coolers outlast the 65'* without. Including the 96 SSEi'* that have the lower rated 4T60E(HD) transaxle.

On the 65, I assume the plugs are there to add lines for a cooler?

Alll 65-E'* are set up like the 60-E in an SE bonneville.... The 65-E just uses the stock internal cooler thats inside the passenger side of the radiator...
Question for everyone out there.... are the threaded fittings the same on the lines and radiator between the 60-E and 65-E?
