My Bonneville Won't Start Properly...Can You Help??
Okay Amy....First off you can't pull codes by grounding out the terminal connector after 93! Willwren should know that! Second, a scanner will be needed to read for any codes. I would disconnect the battery for about half hour & then reconnect it back up. This will clear any codes present & allow the the ECM to relearn itself. If the the problem is still present after this then get the codes scanned. These codes will determine what is going haywire in your system & take ALL the guess work out of the final equation!
If you give the codes read from the scanner I'll be able to tell you what needs to be replaced instead of just throwing parts into the car until your bank account dries up!

Thanks! I'll reset the computer tomorrow morning and see if that helps. If not I'll get the codes read somewhere. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Oh, and I'm from Johnstown, about 20 minutes out of Columbus Bonneville_Blue, that'* about 2 or 2 1/2 hours from Toledo
Ok, I've been spanked by the Rat. I THOUGHT the 95 had enough sanity in it to be read that way, but I guess it got OBD'd farther than I thought.
However, in my defense.....another Bonnie owner, who actually DRIVES A 95, thought it would work TOO. I won't say who it is, but he posted right above this mess, and has a pretty red car with 5 stars above it.
HA. I'm not the ONLY bozo!

I saw one for my car, but it was about $150...is there somewhere I could get one cheaper than that? I should probably just break down and buy it, since it would be pretty helpful.
FYI: all you need is the patch cable from the OBDII connector into the computer ( prefereably a laptop.. whihc I am looking for at the moment ).. the software can be downloaded at either

Amy.. haven't you notice that when the women calls for men to take out the trash or mow the lawn.. we flock and run far far away... but you bellow for something with a car.. and we flock all over it like a bunch of flies to a light....

Didn't mean to seem rude , just hate typing. but PONTIAC did build the car so they might know what to look for . As soon as they tell you what it is get the parts and do it your self it'* the fastest and cheapest way cause you'll spend maybe 200.00 on parts you didn't need in the first place.Once again sorry . just hate typing.
So I got a friend in Jiffy Lube , seems they got a machine that tests your oil and in 10 mins tell you whats wrong with your car . From airfilter to head gaskets it examines the oil for any thing other oil any finds out what it is then gives you the possible part it originated from . Cool!
