Nope, can't say that it is. Some people say I can test it myself...others are saying no...so I'll probably just scoot over to Autozone tomorrow and let them do it for me.

Will do. Sorry to irritate anyone ( was not aware that I had, until now) I was just trying to learn everything that I can about the car so as to better fix it.

After Talking to Tamara... ( this is her idea by the way.. just posting it for her )
She mentioned of a similar problem that was caused by the oil pressure sensor.. Tamara also at that time the car would stall when in park on neutral, but be fine when in gear ( possible vacuum lost since there'* less vacuum when the car is in park/neutral. )she couldn't pull an error code because the thing was on its way out, and when it finally went, the PCM then registered an error code.. might want to get that checked...

I'll look into that. Thank you. I'll probably just take it to a dealership and get it looked at there, as was suggested to me.

That sucks, Amy. I wish there was a for-sure way to get those codes without paying for it. I just spent $118.72 getting my ABS DIAGNOSED. They wanted another $900 to fix it. Guess I'm getting dirty. Definitely keep us posted.

This has been hashed over before, (see http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...&highlight=obd ) but...

I went out to my car, camera in tow, dead set on proving myself right. I was *certain* that I had successfully pulled codes from my '95 before. So, I get out there, jumper the appropriate pins, and.... nothing. I tried again, and... nothing.

So, bottom line is, I was wrong. :(

....which, he forgot to say, also explains about your check gauges light coming on. Because the oil pressure drops so drastically, and when this happens, the car usually stalls due to the low-oil shut off point. Don't worry...the oil sensor is like $50 CDN...quite cheap.
