Fatcat.. It was me that PM'd you. In your first post of this thread, you merely stated for him to change the wires.

At that time I didn't know you were a GM tech for 12 years. Very nice to have that level of knowledge aboard and we do appreciate the assistance. Please know that I have spent years of my life with a GM trained tech and learned tons. Therefore when he suggests stuff, sometimes I look at him funny and ask for an explaination or a reason.

In my PM I was meaning that we like to give reasons and try to test parts if possible. You have an extremely good point about trying to test a wire with no load. With that explaination and your 12 years of experience it sounds like a great place to start.

If you were offended please accept my apologies.

well i bought a new set of Belden plug wires today, went to a local park to find some shade with which to perform shadetree mechanics because i didnt want to drive all the way back home, installed them, took her for a drive, runs like a champ once again...thanks for the help guys!

also on the wires i removed there are 3 little guides, and i couldnt get them to come apart at all, they space out the wires and one of them attaches to the fuel rail....i can get pics if you need em, because i kept them, are these necessary? and if so how the heck do they open up?

Those are the wire loom, wire clips.. they come apart easy if you look at either end there'* a little push in piece. Use a small screwdriver or pick to push in and they'll come right apart

Ok...look at either end and you see where the piece of plastic goes down into the main piece. Put a small screwdriver in the slot and pry up and in...no body building required.

If you can't get these ... we'll...we'll uh..send PJ over to show you how.

Told ya so! :P

But really, I came off as a horrendous jerk in this post. I need to apologize to everyone here!.......I'm sorry for getting all hot headed about a simple thing. I want to extend the apology to LittleHoov and BillBost37 because they are the two I most likely offended the most.

Sorry guys for being such a jerk about this whole thing. I had a really bad day when
I posted that.
