does anybody know where to start looking for the problem? it just stoped working.

My HUD works sometimes also.Somedays it comes on and works all day somethimes it comes on while driving and then just goes away.I quess that will be my next project,as my wife really misses it and lets me know it

If it'* anything like the flaky compass and DIC displays I had, the problem is some slightly oxidized pin connectors going into the display. Open up what you need to in order to get at the display wiring, disassemble and reassemble whatever can be unplugged (especially any ribbon-cable connections), and see if it starts working again.

That was all it took on mine (fortunately); the connections had gotten a little dirty with age and oxidation, and unplugging and plugging in again was all it took to get a better connection.

You might want to start down at the dash control panel and see if something there is having problems before going into the display.
