Another little thought. If the mechanic checked the steering, he might have unhooked the linkage from the throttle body to the tranny kick down solenoid. It has adjustablilty, and if he hooked it up wrong, too tight, it would hold the throttle partly open. The linkage cable comes close to the steering shaft.

i think he ended up checking the suspension for creaks and stuff cuz the struts made noises when turning

seems strange to me that a car would do that from just sitting.
Did the battery go dead? Have you questioned the mechanic on exactly what he did to the car?
Was the fuel tank on empty when it sat?

havent asked the mechanic yet but i think it was empty when it sat. this is all very hard to do and get done cuz im in the reserves and im being deployed on monday and i dont wanna deal with my car screwing up on me right now.
