Head gaskets are leaking...repair or replace?

They go by book rate. What the book says the job should take.
I can tear down and rebuild the same top end on an L36 or L67 in 2-3 hours, but if I were a shop, I'd still go bey the shop rate for the job.
Nevertheless, you didn't get the PARTS and FLUIDS specified. Don't ask for money back, get what you asked for at no extra cost.

So, I called out the owner on the DexCool issue as well as the hoses. He said that he'll swap out the hoses when ever I want (no problem). Then he told me that they used the "prestone gm dex cool anti freeze." I said, "but last night you told me that you just put in dexcool. I'm confused." He said, "that was my mistake last night sorry, this morning i looked at the container . the top says gmdexcool approved."
For all I know, he could be lying just to appease me. I wish there were a way to tell the truth. :?

Ahh... I see where there was confusion. I specified "Prestone Long-Life DEX compatible antifreeze" which is what he said they could not find locally. Instead they used the "Prestone DEX-COOLŽ Extended Life Antifreeze/ Coolant."

You have to pull the LIM to get the heads off. 
I'll bet you my car against yours that it'* the LIM gaskets and not the heads. But I'm basing my odds on my experience and observation over 5 years on this Forum. I think we've seen MAYBE one or two failed head gaskets in 5 years here, and one or both wasn't completely confirmed.

Print that and show it to your mechanic. It'* the LIM gaskets. And the beauty is you don't even have to pull the SC or fuel rail. Pull it all out as one big piece. Very little work.
