It sounded like <rattle rattle rattle> **BANG** and it stopped dead jammed tight. it was fun getting it to spin again to get the torque converter to flywheel bolts out. I was getting ready to cut the crank.... I've detonated motors on purpose that didn't go as spectacularly as this one did.


Thanx to all who replied. I'm going to try to clean it out the best I can and dismantle and clean the supercharger.
