Brake lights always on

Hello,
I've been reading the Bonneville Club for some months now, just lurking in the distance, but I thought I'd register and join the fray.
Anyhow, after driving behind me, my friend notified me that my brake lights are always on and he can't tell when I'm braking except that the two inner lights (on the trunk) get only marginally brighter. Even the third center mounted light is always on. I'm positive that the parking brake is not on (at least not as far as I have anything to do with it). Mycar is a '95 SE and it has the Twilight Sentinal, which I do use. I'm wondering if anybody else has had this issue, and if there'* anything that I can do about it? I realize this is a safety hazard so I'd like to get this taken care of as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for any help, and cheers to one of the best online communities out there!
Regards,
Stoopid

Well it turns out that the pedal switch is ok because the brake lights will work just fine in the daytime when the headlights and taillights are off (I do not have daytime running lights). The brake lights are only on persistantly when the headlamps and taillamps come on (whether if I pull the switch manually to turn them on or if the Twilight Sentinal does it automatically makes no difference). Any other ideas on the matter? Thanks for any help!
Make sure you have the correct lamps in the brake light sockets. My sister'* car (90 Bonneville), when we first got it, had a similar problem. It turned out to be a single-filament lamp forced into a dual-filament socket, and was connecting the brake light circuit with the tail light circuit.

2057'*! I had 1056'* stuck in there since apparently the previous owner just bought any old bulb and attempted to shove a 1057 into the socket, which of course didn't work. I swear the manual said 1056 replacements, but I must've been on crack (prolly misread the center stop or the rear turn). Gotta head out to Pep Boys before dark tomorrow to fix this quick. Thanks for the help guys.
