I had this problen a few years ago, Turns out my EGR mount was cracked allowing blowby. As you have the same mount you might want to check that. Mine was pretty obvious after it was discovered. You can check for this by:

Hold onto the EGR pipe (the one wrapped in the white thing) It should take a long time to heat up, but 45 seconds if something'* wrong.

Look at where the EGR mounts, the underside of that peice. See any exhaust carbon?

Look at where the EGR mounts, my crack went through the inner circle, You'll see what I mean when you look.

Even though '94 uses the linear EGR, the mount is the same and I suspect the diagnosis will be too.

I don't know for sure, but what I can tell you is that an operational scanner will tell you everything that the PCM is seeing as far as sensor readings.

I was hoping Archon or markwb would explain the scanner operation and what to look for.

They have 00+'* and neither currently own a scan tool.

Ryan.. hook the Xray up. If it has a record function, use it to record the car sputtering and post the data. Mac is alluding to one of the sensors giving a questionable reading that is making the car act up.

Just curious, did you drive it with the EGR unplugged?

I just figured it out. He must have crossed the EGR port with the coolant bypass ports on the LIM so now coolant is leaking into the EGR......OH NO

Where in Gods name do you get that info? I'm getting slightly excited. And I don't want to hear that it costs an arm and a leg, cause I can't give one up.
