Hmm, when I pulled the valve off the new one, there was a ring on the replacement that came with the APN upper...I've reseated it all, but haven't fired it up yet.
Any other ideas before I start it up again?

Okay nm, I feel dumb now...I guess it would help if I actually removed the PCV valve from the old intake and installed it, instead of just the access cover!

IT LIVES AGAIN!
Wooo! Ran it for another 10 minutes, all the white smoke is gone, temperature stabilized, coolant level seems stable as well. I'll keep an eye on the level over the next few days, but it even sounds better now.
Bill, Archon, I owe you both a beer if you are ever up this way.

Way to go...and it'* great the way you've stuck with it and saw this whole project through! I just played a bit part is this whole thing - but I'd take a beer anyway.
Hey, Bill. Think 8419 could leave the local run and hit the rails to the frozen north?

Great job, Arbelac! Feels good to know you did all the work, eh?
As you mentioned, keep an eye on that coolant level. Depending on how recently you filled it, the level may drop over the course of a whole day of driving. There tends to be a large amount of air that needs to be purged from the system. As long as it doesn't go down for more than a day or two, you're golden! Again, congrats on a job well done!
