I firmly disagree with the above advice on several points:

1. The PMV assembly is nearly as likely to be bad as well as a WSS/hub. Or multiple hubs at once.

2. I've had bad experiences with Midas in the past, and wouldn't go back. My opinion.

3. Mounting 'remote' hubs won't really fly. A common mode of failure for TC is to fail AFTER the car is in motion.

While I admire your repair cost, I need to point out that I have 2 Bonnevilles:

93 has no traction or ABS working. Repair cost for two hubs and a PMV is over 600 in parts, and I get better pricing than just about anyone here.

95 has TC out, but ABS still works. Price for a PMV? Look it up sometime.

This CAN be a very expensive system to repair, not to mention the pain of diagnosis. I would take it to a trusted source for diagnosis before spending any money on parts.

Guess I have just been exceptionally lucky.

All three GM failures have been the hub assemblies. Are there other things that could cause this problem, without a doubt.
The repairs cost I provided are actual. I take care of my own repairs, with the exception of tires and alignment.

As far as repair places, I have had or heard first hand of bad experiences of every repair place in my city, including the dealers. Even one of the cities best dropped my brother-in-laws truck off the hoist.
You need to work with one you have had good experiences with.

You do bring up some good points.
If you have traction control and they both have the lights on, Hubs is a great place to look.
If just one light is on, it could still be the hubs, but may not.

I have owned 2 Bonnies and take care of 2 others. So toss 97, 98, and 99 in for me. Got 225 on my 94 before I traded it for the 99.

For $50 I would get it scanned, but a $100 I would buy returnable hubs, try them out and go from there. But to each his own; this practice may not sit well with everyone.

And yes I agree at $370 BPMV’* are expensive.
It could be a heat issue that causes the different failure rates, You are in a much hotter climate than myself. Around here only a dealer would carry a BPMV locally, but I could pick up over a dozen hubs locally without going to a dealer if I needed.
