Question 1998 Catera - Check Engine Light, ABS Light and TC light on

Hi! I would appreciate any thoughts on how to fix the problem that is causing the Engine light, ABS light and the TC lights to come on. Also, sometimes the speedometer will not working. I had the car checked for codes. The only code coming up is P1501 Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent. How do I fix this ? I've replaced the Speedometer wheel sensor and this did not help. Occasionally the ABS, TC and Check engine lights will not be on, then after driving about 15 minutes they will come back on.

Is this a wiring problem? Could the sensors just need cleaning? Do I need to have my ABS unit rebuilt? By the way, what is replaced when the ABS Unit is rebuilt?

Sorry, lots of questions. I need to get this fixed ASAP so it will pass smog and so I can renew the registration. Any ideas?

I would say you have a ground issue. All those lights and no real codes? Locate your ground points and clean them up.

your vss comes from your transmission not the wheels. are you saying you had the abs wheel sensor replaced? if so the vss is different. the other indications are likely the computer shutting those off due to a confusing vss signal.
