Hi to all,
My no spark issue WAS the crank sensor being defective. After a shop had the car for a couple of days it came to $200.00; diagnosis, part, and a couple of hours labor to remove the balancer and replace the sensor. Ouch!
Iwin12: I had pruchased another ICM from a wercking yard and i had swaped that one for a second one they had and it still didn't start. So I have now a second spare(their policy of "once you buy it it'* your'*) ICM for the futrure, but I do appreciate the offer on yours and the harness.
94ssegold and Dameorder: As you can see your suggestion relating to the crank sensor being the culprit was dead on. It is starting up and running with out any hesitation at all.
My one bad in all this was not disconting the CAM SENSOR as Damemorder'* previous post had recommended, I had disconected the CRANK sensor. After all they both start with "C".
Spanking myself now for haveing a dyslexic moment
My last request for now is that my radio is locked out after the NEG terminal was removed from the battery. I didn't recieve the unlock code from the previeous owner, and I'm not sure he had ever had one. So other than paying the dealer a hefty unlock fee, $75, as I am still reeling from the repair bill, is their a much less expensive way to get the unlock code for it, if not i'll be hitting the piggy bank.
Thank you all again very much.

Good to see you got it figured out. $200 is not bad for the labor. It was $150 for labor just getting the balancer off my old 3.8.

1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3
digits of the display code are displayed.

2. Write the numbers down.

3. Press the AM/FM button, write down the next 3 numbers.

4. Call 1 800 537 5140, listen to the whole message carefully, when asked, enter 206010, press the # button and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.

5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press MIN button and set the next two last numbers, press AM/FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio.
I beleive that will work.
