When I bought this car, we wisely got the warranty with it, which paid for itself about 3 times over.
Without the warranty, it'* a bit more costly, for sure, but this is the first major snafu I've had since it expired.
What we found out:
The coolant was already leaking into the engine.
The crank sensor is faulty --- can't find the code.
The ignition module is faulty.
They'll be working on the sensor and module today. The intake; oil change; fuel filter change have all been done.
The price is now about $1,500.00 by the time we pay the 'Governor Pretend' ( Christine Gregoire, winner by 3 recounts... ).

The only glitch is they got the wrong ignition module, so I won't have the car until Monday...
I'll make other arrangements for my travelling needs over the weekend. :?

--- the story is:
They could tap on the ignition module that was in the car and it would die.
They got TWO AC-Delco modules in and both of them made the car run rough.
They are now contacting GM about the snafu and looking for a part that works...
It just can't be THAT difficult.

Not too long after I posted this, the Service Manager called to say it was fixed and runs good...to the tune of $1,532.41.
OK.
It was NAPA to the rescue!!!
