Default Sun Roof Leaking

Boy this really hurts... I took my 88 to a detail shop, to get it polished, and unknown to me he "buffed" the exposed surface of the sunroof seal. He broke through the "skin" on the seal, and now the opened pores in the seal soak up water, and leak... The dealer says "no way" to getting a new one.... Any Ideas ? The seal was ok before this, can I seal up the open sponge areas where the skin is damaged ? Anyone know the Part # for just the seal ?

This may be the end for my bonny....

Xeeno....

They politely said "we didn't do that"... It took me a week to notice, so I guess I'm screwed there, besides, what can he do if there aren't parts available... I just had a brain fart... What if I install an after market sunroof into it ? The headliner would be a toughy, but one for a LE or SE might work.... Hmmmmm......

Junkyard might be an option, but I visit the locals about once a month and so far over the last 8 months or so, no 88'* with sunroofs... An 89-91 won't work either, the 88 has a completely different setup...
