Default Moon Roof or Sun Roof??

my car has one of the 2 and im trying to figure out what you would label it as. It DOESNT come out like the ones you see on the grand prix that make it look sporty.

when you look at it from the outside it doesnt pop out at all its just a straight line.

Can you open it? Does it have an interior shade on the interior roof that you can pull closed

I think it goes like this.
If you have a sunroof, it'* metal- same color as the car.
A moonroof is glass instead of metal, so you can see through it.

I prefer moonroofs, obviously. And i really dig the ones that come out like the Grand Prix.. They make a car look sporty. Stick a spoiler on there, and it'* a sexy machine. :P But the ones that stay in the car are more reliable, so I've heard.

But chances are you have a moonroof; Most cars don't come with sunroofs anymore.

I thought moonroofs were powered and on a track and sunroofs flip up by hand or can be completely removed

yes i have a sliding carpet plate that you slide out and you can see through the glass, then i push a button and the glass slides open completely straight. IT DOES NOT POP UP AND OPEN AND LOOK SPORT LIKE THOSE GPS like i wish it did.

Try pushing the switch straight up and not forward or aft. With mine, when I push the switch towards the rear, the glass slides back. When I push it forward, it closes. When I push it straight up, the glass pops up in the rear.

If its OEM and it sounds 100% like it is, it pops up in the back. Play with the button am little more. my wife still cant make it just pop up. (Sorry for the comparison) You have to sorta push up and towards the front of the car.

Sunroofs are metal, moonroofs are glass.

They only pop up a few inches. They are not suppose to be anything but a vent. Glad you got it figured out!
