intermittant SES, Fixed
I just plugged in a brand new MAF sensor, and no change. SES is stuck on, car will not hold an idle whatsoever, will not start unless I hold throttle 20-30 percent open. Also it will not go into diagnostic mode right now. I disconnected batt for 10 min, when reconnected car acts the same. Code will not clear.
Is there a ground for the computer? Also where are the major grounds on this car? I would like to make sure all my grounds are clean before I even try another computer.
I took back my MAF, and got a reman PCM. Where is the PCM located at on this car, and what precautions should I take before installing it? On the box it says to test all relays for resistance, but Im not even sure where all the relays are on this car. I definitely don't want to fry a new computer and be out 80 bucks. Whats the best way to replace?
Thanks for the help

At this point you do not have an issue with bad relays.... Nor the injector driver circuit...
Disconnect the Negative cable at the Battery..
Remove the Passenger side Hush panel, Look up and you should see a the ECM with 3 connectors and a battery of wires.. The ECM will be held in with one 10 mm bolt iirc..
Swap out the Mem-Cal chip from you old unit to the new unit
Then reinstall
Connect the Negative battery cable
Start it up...
I have seen a lot of these fail... Even my 91'* have Reman ECM'*...
The Le has an AC Delco Reman... And the SSE has a Cardone Reman

I am glad you got it fixed. Thanks for letting everyone know what fixed the problem. If you don't mind my asking, what did the reman computer cost? And did you shop around for it or buy the first one you found?
I've got the hook up on parts, a friend of my father owns a local auto parts distribution warehouse. He sells parts to a lot of smaller auto parts stores in the metro Detroit area. So I got my computer from him for 80 bucks, he charges me what he would sell it to a parts store at wholesale.
Whenever I need anything major I go to him, I dont shop around. Im assuming that its cheaper than anywhere else because anytime I have price checked he has been WAY lower than any parts store, Autozone, Murrays, etc. I mean I got an OEM o2 sensor from him for 16 bucks, autozone wanted 50.
I am going to be starting my own business here shortly, possibly setting up a wholesale account with him. If I do I will post on this forum how much I can get parts for and services I offer. If so I will give good prices for members of the forum, you guys helped me out, so if I can I will return the favor.

Glad to hear you got the car fixed... Usually when you have codes that change or are there after blanking the puter, or for no reason you have a hand full of ghost codes and the car runs like crap then there is a chance that the ECM has bit the dust...
On the parts... I am always looking for good parts at a good price...lol

Thats what I'm talkin bout, I still have to take back my computer core, when I go I will talk to him about what I need to get before he will set up a wholesale account for me. Right now when I need somthing, my dad calls him, and I go pick it up. I'd like to be able to just walk into the parts counter and order up what I need.
Now I have 2 forums I could sell parts on. I think im gonna get on this ASAP, lol
