^double post, lol
but anywho, I think the courtesy light(*) come on as required, but I don't spend too much time with the car at night (when one would notice these things more), and being the family car, usually when the light IS on, more than one door is open. It'* one of the rear doors that will never fail to register on the DIC. Though I have a hunch that courtesy lights and DIC not registering are seperate events.

I Have the same problem with my compass. When you turn the ignition on it seems to work and then it stops at the same location every time. It started when I replaced my rear speakers. I beleve since the speakers have larger magnets they disturb the compass sender wich is located close to the passenger side speaker. My DIC work as supposed though. Maybe you are dealing with two problems here. Take a look and see if your rear speakers are original.

I've never added any new rear speakers since I got the car, but will look there first and see if I can atleast get the Compass going. So if I remove the rear speaker cover in the trunk I'll see a box close to one of them???

Here is a pic of the Compass with the Module unplugged in the trunk..

It does it'* normal turning around a bit then stops left of center north and stays there. Even if you move the car it'* the same. Now after plugging in the compass module again, it spins around a bit then stops right of center north like the picture at the start of this thread. So only thing I can think of is the module is shot or something unless someone else has any idea'*.
