88 LE Performance or Comfort
i know i cant get the best of both worlds so i need some opinions. should i even try to make this car fast or should i make it so it runs really smooth and sounds nice.
i mean its only an LE. it has little to no "toys" and im not even sure if it is worth making it into a sleeper.
what do all of you think i should do with my LE, ride in comfort or ride with performance (note this is my only car)
this decision is driving me crazy

MY opinion would be this: Make the car your own! If this means performance, so be it! If this means afforadability, then so be it too. Just remember that POWER COSTS MONEY! BTW: It'* also addictive (POWER that is). Just ask anyone else here that hasn't got a life!

The beauty of any Bonnie, any era, is that you can have BOTH. My '93 is the most comfortable car I've ever owned......and moves like a bat outta hell. Power does cost, like the Rat sez. I'm one of the addicts!

I am into performance and comfort. A cruiser is the paradox and I love owning one. Powerful luxury, but with a cheap twist so you feel like your slumming it with a hot . mmmm .... Ok time to go.

I have an 89 LE and it will eventually be a sleeper with no outward signs of the beast that lies under the hood.
I just need a few more years and a lot more money. Right now I am concentrating on handling/breaking and possibly better front seats since the ones in there kind of suck.

well the reason i ask this question is cuz...i want to make it last as long as possible...would tweaking it so it get better performance eventually shorten the life of the original engine/transaxle? i mean i dont want to blow anything.
anyway on the way to the junkyard to get annother cluster. hope i get one that will work this time :?

If you want it to last then drive it nice. Performance will not kill it. Hard driving will wear it out faster. If you build it up then you will basically be repairing all its problems so it won’t break down as much. Performance costs more but it is always worth it in the long term.

sup it up
but don't drive like a nut (all the time) and your car will last even longer than if you did no mods.
But be sure to fix all of you mechanical probs. first, then performance parts.
