I've never seen a fly by between two ships . It kinda makes me wonder what the OldMan was thinking when he approved it.

I don't think there was much room for any error as he was flying in excess of 700MPH. He was flying at aproximately flight deck level which is lower than the mast on both ships, and he was mighty close to that Destroyer.

by the movie it didnt look too spectular (first one)... second one was inda neat with the upside down plane...

He was flying faster than the speed of sound. Probably moving at 765-800 MPH.
