I have a new PCM.
My Intense PCM was giving me incredibly high timing advances, and I wanted to switch to a DHP for a long time. I took advantage of a deal they had this week and got my IPCM flashed to a DHP 1.0 for only 25 bucks. I just got it flashed this morning by Dave from DHP. He only lived a few minutes from my house, so it was very convienient. He was very helpful and I'm glad he let me come to his house on a Saturday morning.
I drove back to school afterward, which is a nice 150 mile drive on the freeway. I haven't scanned the car yet, but it'* running really good, and really takes off on the freeway. I haven't fully tested it out, but I can see good things coming from this PCM swap.
I thought I would share my story with everyone.

Is DHP offering this to unsatisfied Intense customers?
The IPCM came out a bit to fast IMO, but at least yer getting better response in your GTP Sol, what kinda gains are you getting, what does it do exactly?

They had a special for a week for unsatisfied IPCM owners.
Basically, it does the same stuff as the IPCM, but with a different tune. I'm not pointing fingers at who is better, but I do notice an improvement. The timing advances programmed in to the DHP are lower than the IPCM. I haven't scanned yet, but I should be getting around 15-18* of advance. In the IPCM, I was getting way above 20. It probably contributed to the KR I was getting. I'm sure a lot of other things are different, but I am not aware of it.
I am probably feeling a gain because my KR levels have dropped, and I am not loosing power from it. I guess supposedly the shifts are harder with the DHP, but I haven't tested that out yet. Also, according to Dave, most of the TQ management is completely eliminated. That guy really knows his ****. He tunes all of ZZP'* cars, so I trust his word.

I feel ya on the TQ managment. The 4T80E with its 260 ft lbs is a tq monster in its own right, but its SO bogged down with PCM controlled TQ management.
I want a PCM just to eliminate that, I have the gearing, and no speed governor, but if I could kill tq management....gawd...it would fly (even more)
Either way Sol, I look forward to seeing your GTP and possibly experience the butt dyno for myself.

The PCM will adapt to conditions and give the amount of timing it feels it can safely give up to the maximum. Our standard PCM gives +3 to the base 15 but you could see 19 or 20 if conditions were right (good fuel, cool weather, etc...). On a stock PCM even though the limit is 15 you could see upwards to 18 again based on conditions.
Everyone of our PCM'* is programmed with the specific year software, proper vin, and latest Operating System code from GM. I'm sorry you felt the INTENSE PCM wasn't usefull to you, I'm sorry you didnt come to us asking about it, I'm happy your happy with your current solution.
