oil pressure gauge
is it normal for the oil pressure gauge to raise when accelerating and lower when deccelerating? i thought that it was supposed to stay at a constant pressure, but i could be wrong. hopefully this is normal and there is nothing wrong with the car.

oil pump output low at low rpm (idle) & high at higher rpm. It'* a function of engine rpm. Also as engine warms up oil pressure will decrease slightly.

The buick engine is a strange beast... But the oil pressure will vary for us, sometimes as much as 30psi in regular driving... could be 25-30psi at idle and 60 psi at roadspeed...
On a lot of the chevy 60* V6'* I have seen they usually stay pretty solid, they vary a little but not a lot... They are all a wee bit diffrent..
