Hey James....as you can see in this pic...the rear openings on this hood are for the cowl induction....but I have a standard airbox still on my truck.
It would be nice if I could tunnel that air to my filter somehow?
I don't know how I can do it tho....

By the looks of things, you would end up removing all the old OEM box and hose, and you would have to make some kind of air box that would sit almost on top of the engine ( like the carbureted cars and trucks did), but make sure it is able to handle a filter in there. But it doesn't look like there is much clearance in there.

BTW is that the air inlet that goes over the rad then into that sharp bend?? Boy someone was thinking when they made that. Just about as bad as on my Malibu, it goes down under the battery and out. The air box is actually between the battery and the drivers side strut tower.

so the cowl induction will only be cowl induction only after it has been modified? sounds fishy to me.

with the VIN Z V6 engine the Cowl Induction would be perfect, because the filter sits right on top of the engine almost like a Carb'd engine

Its a steel aftermarket hood....not factory installed...so to make it functional it will
take some creative'ness to make it "work".

Also you are correct in what you see on the air path as it is now...from drivers side, over
the rad and then another bend in. Not a straight line for sure!
