Yep, a Trofeo. BillBost and I went to the junkyard yesterday and while looking for some parts, I spotted the shifter. I always thought they looked cool and wondered If it would fit in the 90. I bought it for $16 including the middle trim plate.
Bill and I had it in the car and working mechanically within an hour. The safety cable that prevents the shifter from moving from Park while the ignition is off didn't even come close so I'm going to have to go back and get the cable. The front mounting locations matched up perfectly but the rears came up a little short. I used that little U shaped bracket from an extra 93 shifter I had laying around to secure the back. Although I thisk it will work just fine, I still might weld the U bracket in place.
The trim is proving to be a nightmare. It would be easy to just mold it into the existing trim but it has to be removable. I already broke one of the snap clip tabs so I had to figure out another solution. Fiberglass is drying now.
The interior is gray but looks lighter in the pic. The sun was out in full force yesterday. I;m somewhat sunburnt too

Here'* what I came up with:
The gray areas are fiberglass that I had to add to the original trim piece. I dismantled the Olds trim and drilled and countersunk for three 8 x 32 screws that are epoxied in to produce studs. Outer trim goes over the shifter first then the inner piece is installed on top and nuts are screwed on from the bottom. I have to wait until tomorrow to see if the epoxy will do the trick.
The other problem is that the inner trim is flat but the outer trim is curved. Since the inner trim is on top, I'll have to add more fiberglass and blend the two shapes.

How hard is that to install/wire up? If I ever find a Tornado I might have to grab those parts.... looks really cool.
BTW..... do you have a solution for fixing the two clips on the upper and lower console pieces in your car? Both clips on mine are broken and I'm kinda stumped what to do.
