i really think they will be OK considering there was not 1 piece of missing coating anywhere on the rotors before i put the tape on, with 110k miles

i will be taking it off tomorrow evening.. im not at home anymore

what was the process and what was involved? Ive never polished anything before and it would be cool to know since it might be something I might consider down the road.

Sand, sand sand..polish.

Start with probably a 300 grit...then 4-500, 800,1000,1200,2000

Metal polish and a cloth. Similar to how you polished your rims.

i just used a dremel and polishing bit with rubbing compound... it only took about 2-3 min of dremel to get the high shine after all the work in sanding...

i plan on letting the rotors soak overnight in a solution to make sure i dont lose any coating... should i use castrol superclean or goo gone?

I wouldn't let them soak for any amount of time. Probably use goo gone. It hasn't stripped anything I've seen so far..as mentioned many times...Superclean can strip paint..I've watched it work.

well i had cleaned/soaked the rotors with superclean last year to get the carbon off.. they were mint looking..
