Welding aluminum to glass today. Having oxidation problems.....trying N2 as a shield gas. Ho-hum.

Not as exciting as it sounds.

How do you "weld" Aluminum to glass? I have never heard of this before. (Did I miss-read?)

Heat them both to melting and let them mix....lasers can create some pretty intense heat (depending on laser of course). Bill do you do much with blue lasers? Thinking more of the 27GB blue laser disks for storage...

Yes, you read right. You can weld nearly anything, even things with dissimilar melting points. Some materials absorb more of a wavelength than others, so imagine the possibility of welding two dissimilar materials with 2 different lasers at the same time.

I work with several different wavelengths. Virtually the whold spectrum from 248nm to 10.6um. Near UV to Far IR.
